These are planning estimates. Kerala’s coastal roads can be slow in rain, at school hours, and near busy junctions. Add a little buffer. The coast does not reward rushed plans.

For a long road trip, leave Hi-Tech City through the Outer Ring Road. Join NH 44 towards Kurnool and Bengaluru. Then continue through Tamil Nadu towards Madurai and Tirunelveli before entering Kerala near Thiruvananthapuram.

By train

Thiruvananthapuram Central is the most useful railhead. From there, use a taxi, auto or bus towards Kovalam/Vizhinjam and Azhimala. It is a good choice if you do not want to drive the full Hyderabad–Kerala distance.

By flight

Fly to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Prepaid taxis, app cabs and local cabs are the easiest final connection. For families with luggage, take a direct cab. Budget travellers can reach the city first and use buses plus an auto.

A simple 2-day Azhimala and Kovalam itinerary

Day 1, morning: Reach Thiruvananthapuram. Go to Padmanabhswami temple. Check in near Kovalam or Vizhinjam.
Day 1, late afternoon: Visit Azhimala Shiva Temple. See the statue, complete darshan and walk towards the beach before sunset.
Day 2, morning: Spend time at Kovalam Beach or Lighthouse Beach.
