Thinking of going from Bangkok to Koh Larn? Here is a simple real experience — ferry, beach, tips, and what to expect.
Introduction – A Plan That Was Never Planned
Honestly, we didn’t even plan to go to Koh Larn.
It was just a random thought.
We were in Bangkok, and suddenly we felt like trying something different. So we said, “Let’s just go and see if we get a ferry.”
No bookings. No preparation. Just a try.

The Ferry Experience – Lucky Timing
We reached the ferry point around 10:50 AM.
Honestly, we thought it would be full.
However, when we asked, they told us to wait for a few minutes.
We waited hardly 5 minutes, and luckily, we got seats.
It felt like perfect timing.
Soon after, we boarded the ferry.
Journey to Koh Larn
The ferry ride was simple but enjoyable.
Meanwhile, the cool breeze and sea view made it relaxing.
It took around 30 minutes to reach Koh Larn.
Honestly, the moment we got closer, the water started looking more clear and blue.
Reaching the Beach
After getting down, we took a local vehicle called songthaew.
It is like a shared pickup vehicle.
Meanwhile, it took us directly to the beach area.
The ride was short and easy.
First View – Totally Worth It
The moment we reached the beach, we were honestly surprised.
The water was clear blue, much better than Pattaya.
Meanwhile, the sand was clean, and the vibe was very relaxed.
At that moment, we felt — yes, this unplanned trip was totally worth it.

Our Beach Time
We took a small shack (beach chair area) and sat there.
It felt comfortable and peaceful.
Meanwhile, we made milk for our kid and relaxed for some time.
After that, we ordered a coconut crush for ourselves.
Honestly, sitting near the beach, sipping coconut drink, and watching the waves — it felt perfect.
Kid’s Fun Time
Then we took our kid near the water.
He really enjoyed playing there.
Meanwhile, the water was clean and calm, so it felt safe as well.
These small moments made the trip special.

Small Concern – Washroom
One thing we were slightly worried about was the washroom.
We were not sure if there would be proper facilities.
However, we found a washroom nearby, which was chargeable.
Still, it was clean enough and manageable.
Returning Back to Bangkok
After spending a good amount of time, we decided to head back.
We took the ferry again from Koh Larn.
Meanwhile, the return journey was calm and smooth.
And just like that, we were back in Bangkok.
