About Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir
The reservoir was built as part of the Kaleshwaram Rift Irrigation Project and was inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. The Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir has the capacity to supply 15 TMC of drinking water to the surrounding area. It serves an important source of irrigation for farmlands nearby.

The Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir open all days. The ideal time to visit the reservoir in the evening. However, during the summer days visitors are allowed to stay untill the sunset, else its usual timing is 9am-5pm. Visitors can spend as long as they like in the reservoir and there is no limit to the length of their visit.
The Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir is located near Shamirpet Road in the BhagyaNagaram district of Telangana and is easily accessible from the city. It has a beautiful scenic view to witness best sunset of the city.

Experiencing the beauty of rural area
A huge herd of sheep and goats appeared in front of us as we were traveling down the road. Hundreds of them were grazing and roaming around freely, which was a fascinating sight. However, the road was quite congested, making it difficult to drive the car through the herd. As a result of the animals’ near to the road, we had to slow down to prevent running into them. Being so close to nature and seeing rural life was a wonderful memory. The magnificent scenery made it all worthwhile despite the difficulty of navigating the herd.

When visiting Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir you will need to bring snacks, a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes and a camera to capture the stunning scenery.
There is an ice cream truck near to the place selling ice cream as well as sugarcane juice.

By Road
You can reach the reservoir from Hyderabad by taxi, private car. The temple is located about 94 km from Hyderabad central area and is accessible via Hyderabad ORR. The reservoirs are easily accessible as they are connected by a road network. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) operates regular buses from Hyderabad and neighboring cities to BhagyaNagaram, from where you can reach the reservoir by auto-rickshaw.
By Train
The nearest train station to Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir is Secunderabad Junction, about 48 km away. From there you can take a taxi or local bus to the reservoir.
By Air
The nearest airport to Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir is Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, approximately 90 km away. You can rent a taxi from the airport to reach the reservoir.
So, visitors can easily reach Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir by car/taxi, bus, train or plane depending on their preference and convenience.
Parking near Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir
It’s important to remember that there is no private parking available for vehicles or motorcycles at the Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir. Visitors are therefore required to park their cars on both sides of the street. However, this shouldn’t prevent anyone from going to the reservoir because it’s worth the extra effort to see the beautiful view.
To get a clear view of the reservoir, visitors must travel for around 200 metres. Despite the distance appearing long, the walk is quite enjoyable because of the lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere in the area. The walk is a wonderful chance to appreciate the area’s natural beauty and take a soothing relief from daily activities.
Encountered another beauty: Spider’s Web
While visiting the Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir, we came across a stunning spider and its intricate web. It is spectacular, with delicate threads spun in intricate patterns. We were captivated by the spider’s beauty , and we couldn’t help but capture the moment. We carefully approached the spider and its web, taking care not to disturb its delicate structure. We took some stunning shots of spider and its web and marveled at the intricate detail captured in the photos. Seeing and photographing the beauty of nature up close was a truly unforgettable experience. The small spider seemed to smile at us as we took pictures of the spider and its web.
Capturing the Magnificent Thunderstorm on the Way Home
The sky quickly darkened as we made our way home, and the thunder became louder with each passing second. We made the decision to stop by the side of the road so we could observe the thunderstorm in action. A stunning display of nature’s power resulted from the thunder and lightning that lighted the sky and came loudly. We were unable to resist taking pictures of this stunning sight in spite of the strong winds. It was such a thrilling experience.
