Meanwhile, during the Bengali Festival, the atmosphere of the temple transforms into a bustling hub of activity. Bright colors, lively music, and cheerful people create a contagious festive atmosphere. Despite the increased activity, we never felt overcrowded or uncomfortable. Overall, visiting the temple on both a normal day and a busy Bengali festival day was a wonderful experience and we look forward to many more visits in the future.
Bengali Snacks and Rural Charm : A Foodie’s Paradise close to the Temple
For foodies who miss the taste of Bengali cuisine, small stalls near the temple offer a variety of delicious snacks such as phutika, jal muli, bread and chai. In addition, these stalls also serve other popular Bengali dishes such as Chalta Achar and Chanachur(Mixture). I always eat tasty puchka when I visit the temple, which makes my spiritual experience even better.
We really enjoy visiting the temple and experiencing the rural life that surrounds it. Sitting on the steps of the small pond nearby, We love watching the beautiful birds that come to eat the fish in the water.
It’s also fascinating to see the locals fishing in the pond. Another great feature is the small cattle shed nearby, where we can see big cows or buffaloes eating dry grass.
This experience is particularly enjoyable for us because it provides a glimpse into rural life, something that we don’t often get to see in my urban surroundings.
Overall, the combination of these natural and cultural elements adds to the unique atmosphere of the temple and makes it a must-visit spot for us.

The Shiva temple recently decorated in a unique and visually stunning way resembled Mount Kailash. We discovered this when we visited the temple on the occasion of the auspicious Shivratri.
The decorations are made of cotton and other materials and there is a really amazing amount of attention to detail. The view looked like Lord Shiva was sitting on the lap of the mountain so the overall effect was amazing.
There are also amazing garments and jewellery on other deities. Goddess Kali is completely dressed up with valuable jewellery and beautiful flowers on big celebrations like Durga and Kali Puja, adding to the temple’s overall beauty.
How we reached Swarna Shilpi Vivekananda Kali Mandir
We usually prefer to take the route from the financial district, take the Nehru outer ring road and take exit 44 to reach the temple.
However, the roads around the temple are narrow, so please be careful when driving so as not to cause an accident or inconvenience.
Still, the scenic views and serene atmosphere make the drive to the temple an enjoyable experience.
The best time to visit the temple is between 5:30pm and 6:00pm, when the sun is setting and the sky is taking on beautiful colors. This is also the time to join Sandhya Arti.
You can easily spend an hour or two here as there are so many beautiful places to take pictures. The road around the temple is narrow, so be careful.
